These articles are a must READ for anybody that is planning or has ever run their hound on a lure course. Please do take the time to read them all. They give a wonderful insight to our sight hounds and how to improve on the continued success in this performance event.
There are six installments written by Patricia Gail Burnham and published originally in “The WindHound” in 1986. The topic is still a concern and does pertain to today’s issues.
You can access them via: http://www.runswiftwhippets.com/Burnham/1-rabbits.html or use the link in Useful Links on the Right Sidebar. The link is to the first article and you can view the next one from the link at the bottom of the article.

We would like to thank everyone that came out to share the rainy day with us, whether you showed your dog, did obedience, ran the lure or put them through the tunnels. A special thanks goes to those that helped set up and took down the equipment and those that did the registration and sign ups!!
We’d like to thank our show judge… Mike Frost and our obedience judge… Cheri Hagan. Their time was appreciated, and hope they had a good time in spite of the weather.
Our ring stewards, Mary Beth Lutrick, Darlene Jewell and Taylor Holen… thank you for your valued assistance. Shuffling the paperwork and keeping the entrants in line can be challenging.
The Rottweiler Club provided food and hot drinks for our event. Oh, Yeah!! We were very thankful for their presence!!
The Winners in conformation were:
Best Puppy — Rene’e Clayton and Stratos
Best Open — Judy Schonbeck and Pyro
Best Bred by — Mary Hermon and Rhygal
Best Junior Handler — Amanda Lewis and Kiya
Best Veteran — Pat Bouschor and My Buddy
Best Adult Handler — Holly Lewis and Kiya
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
All the obedience entrants had a great way to practice for the up and coming CIKC Obedience Trials in August. Matches are a wonderful tool for those serious about competing in regulations events.
